Erler Zimmer EZ-V103 Life-Size Anatomical Model of the Mediastinum

The Erler Zimmer EZ-V103 life-size anatomical model of the mediastinum consists of five parts and allows for a clear view of the anatomical organization of the mediastinum and the relationships between the major structures of the thorax.

The mediastinum is depicted as the central septum that divides the thoracic cavity and separates the two spaces containing the lungs. The sternum and thymus can be removed, allowing for examination of the pericardium and the major pulmonary and systemic vessels.

The trachea and esophagus are also visible as they pass through the superior thoracic aperture to enter the mediastinum, while the cavity is bounded inferiorly by the diaphragm.

The heart, also life-size, consists of two parts. The anterior wall can be removed to observe the internal structures of the heart.

The model comes complete with a base and is particularly suitable for teaching anatomy and for studying the relationships between the heart, large vessels, airways, and mediastinal structures.
